ESCAPE ROOMS CARDIFF
THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE
Choose your team of 2-6 players (per room).
Select your theme from our 7 immersive game rooms.
You’ll be given an objective and you’ll need to find objects, codes and clues in the rooms.
With 60 minutes on the clock, you’ll need to think quick, think smart and work as a team if you want to make it out in time.
Find out more about each of our game rooms, click the posters below.
ARE THERE ANY AGE LIMITS?
All players aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an 18+ player.
Due to their complexity, we recommend our games to players aged 13+, however, younger players always enjoy themselves (even our creepier games in the basement), so it’s up to them if it sounds like fun and up to you if you think the theme is suitable.
WHERE ARE YOU?
We’re on St. Mary Street – Just down from the Cardiff Castle and across from the Cardiff Market. There’s a map at the bottom of this page and a button under it to give you directions to take you straight to our door.
ARE THE GAMES FRIGHTENING?
All the games in their nature are thrilling, but there’s nothing scary to worry about! Some may contain a small jump-scare. Please contact us if you are concerned.
Although our creepier basement games, ‘Z – The Zombie Apocalypse’ and ‘Oculus The Serial Killer’, are horror-themed, they are not horror experiences. We aim for excellent design, immersion and gameplay, not a high scare factor! We do not use live actors in our games.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Once a game has been booked, it cannot be moved or cancelled.
All of our games are non-refundable and non-transferable.
CAN WE GET HELP DURING THE GAME?
You can get hints from the Game Masters who supervise your game via the cameras and microphones in the room. They will send you help at the appropriate time if you really are struggling!
WHAT TIME SHOULD WE ARRIVE?
Please be punctual and arrive 5 minutes before the start of your time slot.
This will allow time for your brief, lockers & toilets etc. We will do our best to accommodate you if you are late, but we can’t guarantee that you will still be able to play.
ARE YOUR GAMES ACCESSIBLE?
Our games rooms may involve a little crawling, ducking, and climbing up a few steps.
If you struggle with any of these activities, have any health issues you think we would need to know about, or, if you struggle with stairs, please call before you book and we can offer some best advice based on your needs.
Unfortunately we do not have wheelchair access as all our games are on floors 1, 2 or in the basement.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED NUMBER OF PLAYERS PER TEAM?
Our rooms are designed for 2-6 players. The more of you there are, the easier and cheaper it is per person. The rooms are private and for your party only and not shared with any of the public.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE LARGE GROUPS?
Absolutely. Large groups often come and play our games. Our 7 available game rooms hold 2-6 players, so we can accommodate up to 42 players per hour session. For groups larger than that, please give us a call at 029 2167 9700. Also, we have a great food & drink discount with Franco Manca! Every booking with us gives you 15% off the bill, most of our groups make the most of that offer.
I’M CLAUSTROPHOBIC, CAN I PLAY? I'M PREGNANT CAN I PLAY?
Yes, you can! The rooms are all of a reasonable size and you will not find yourself in an enclosed space. You can leave the room at any point if you so wish. We quite often get players with claustrophobia and we are surprised at how little of an issue it is to them.
None of our games is overly physical, and we have had many pregnant people playing our games. See the ‘Are your games accessible?’ FAQ for details on health.
WHO SHOULD PLAY ESCAPE ROOMS?
One of the things that have made Escape Rooms successful around the world is that they can be enjoyed by everyone for every occasion. From babies to grandparents, we’ve seen all ages of friends and families take on the adventure. We also see gamers, couples and school trips coming by the busload, all enthusiastic about their 1-hour game. Some people celebrate, while others book corporate team buildings for all of their colleagues.
Talking about celebration, we have had 4 proposals here!!!
And OH, don’t forget! We are dog friendly, so bring the pup along!

Such a good way of catching up with friends, we had so much fun!!! Bebe is amazing, really helpful and prevented us from getting caught by oculus the serial killer
Amazing, Accommodating and Adaptive! *Very Supportive of those with hearing difficulties* – Our Host Amelia was very accommodating, friendly and enthusiastic. She was able to adapt the rooms to our needs (as we where a large group with most having various hearing… read more difficulties, a few profound deaf) on the spot.

Me and my 3 other friends recently returned to play The Tomb, after escaping the chilling Oculus game earlier this year.
This is the sixth Escape Room I’ve done this year and unfortunately the first real disappointment I’ve had (which is a shame because this was my first visit to this… read more particular place). My partner and I did the Sherlock Holmes themed room for my birthday which I was excited about because I’m a fan of the Great Detective. Literally one of the first puzzles to solve malfunctioned, that is, the lock wouldn’t open despite the fact we had the correct solution (and before you ask, yes, we had clicked it twice). I’ve had Escape Rooms malfunction before, I get it, it happens, it’s hard to make it work perfectly every time, but usually the staff have the grace to acknowledge it. Instead we were told there was ‘no issue’ which was weird because, ya know, we had, in fact, just HAD an issue. If we can’t open something despite having the correct solution then there demonstrably IS an issue, made us think that we hadn’t got the correct solution meaning that we wasted a lot of time and rather spoiled the game for us right at the beginning (had another lock malfunction later in the game too but not quite as badly, I don’t know, maybe it was the cold weather). Many of the ‘hints’ came long after we had already solved the puzzles, despite being told that we could be seen and heard at all times (this was a problem on the very first puzzle where we found the solution quickly but couldn’t progress because of the malfunction). A shame really because I liked the room broadly, it had some clever and unexpected puzzles though the anachronisms somewhat spoiled the immersion for me, but I am a stickler for theme so that is just personal taste I guess. Out of the three Escape Rooms I’ve been to in Cardiff it is the only one I’ve had a bad experience at. All in all, I left in a bad mood and it makes me reluctant to go back.
I had a really great time! This was my first escape room, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but our Game master Toni was really personable and friendly. They… read more were excited to let us do our thing, but they were always available when we asked for hints, so we weren’t completely stuck.
Good but too hard. One for the purist. – Great location in the centre of Cardiff and close to all amenities. Good welcome with only a short delay as they reset the room.
Had a brilliant time, no better activity to do on a day out. Thanks to Rauri for being our game master.

This made for a very unique experience of the escape room, that was both entertaining and fun, that had a good balance of figuring things out ourselves and guiding us along when we struggled.
This sort of critical thinking is commendable and should be a practice that is seen more often for those with disabilities and as such I would like to thank Escape Rooms @ Cardiff for such an amazing and supportive evening.

Ayleena, (our game master for The Tomb) was… read more kind enough to display the clues that we had already found on screen to help us keep track of our progress. She was also quick to point out that we’d already completed one task without realising it. Without her eagle eyed observation, we wouldn’t have advanced to the next section and escaped.
Both rooms we’ve played are brilliantly made and look incredible! I can’t praise them or the staff enough. We cannot wait to come back! 🙂

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I would definitely come back again! Would 100% recommend giving it a go if you have a free hour to kill.

But found the room Oculus… read more hard to the point of it being not enjoyable, had to ask for clues too often. Some items didn’t work meaning we had to ask for clues even though we’d solved certain things already but as they didn’t work we had to get that confirmed and then really jiggle them, realign them or force them/push them hard – fingers and thumbs were hurt in the process!
Managed to escape with 3 mins to spare but without clues never in a million years. And we have done rooms all over.
This was too hard.
